A very big thank you to my fellow councillors for supporting my proposals for the improvements to the paths at the North End Play Area. My thanks also go our to Calne Town Council officers, particularly Rob Mercer, our Amenities, Conservation & Sustainability Manager. Not only have the original paths been tarmacked, but a new path to the play equipment near the Bremhill View entrance has been created. A new ramped entrance, replaced a kerb, at the North Way entrance makes the play area accessible for the first time at this entrance.
Thanks to Thornbury Surfacing for using their their tonnes of extra tarmac to vastly improve much of the path on Wiltshire Council land that leads from the North End Play Area to Amberley Close.
To finish the job, some topsoil will be brought to site to fill in the path edges, where necessary.
I hope that all play area users find these paths much more accessible and user-friendly.
