Weston Meadows, off Oxford Road, is a David Wilson Homes development. A collection of 2, 3, and 4 bedroom homes with a mix of red brick and stone for facing materials. David Wilson specifically aimed to make this development both bee-friendly, by planting specific plants and offering homebuyers seeds to grow[1], and a hedgehog haven by installing a hogitat at the development[2].
Weston Meadows, Weston Close
The development and Weston Close are named for Walter and Ada Weston, who both served in the First World War.
Walter Samuel Weston enlisted at 18 into the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, as an infantryman, serving at Etaples, battlegrounds on the Somme, and at Ypres.
Dew Way
Ada Weston (nee Dew), joined the Royal Flying Corps, Yatesbury Camp, June 1899. After training as a telegrapher, Ada went on to service in Germany and France.
Gordon Weston, son of Walter and Ada, officially opened the development alongside his wife, son, daughter, three grandsons and a granddaughter. Surely a great example of a community focussed and morale lifting use of street naming.
