Councillor Work: 𝐏𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞

Last year the poor state of several areas of the pavement to the rear of Page Close was brought to my attention. The person who contacted me, a mobility scooter user, avoided this path because it was considered dangerous to use.

Upon inspection, I found that this was not a Wiltshire Council owned pavement. Cllr Tony Trotman for Calne Chilvester and Abberd assisted in connecting me with the Wiltshire Council officer that was able to provide me with the relevant documents proving ownership.

This path was previously owned by Westlea Housing and went across to GreenSquareAccord with the housing stock transfer.

Contact with GSA was brilliant, with their Area Maintenance Surveyor quick to visit the site with Thornbury surfacing.

This work was completed by Thornbury Surfacing on 29 March 2022, removing the areas of trip hazards and providing a smooth surface for mobility scooters, etc. The graphic shows just one of these area.
