Councillor Work: Bowood Permissive Path (Castlefields)

Back in April, I was contacted by a Calne resident contacted me regarding the footpath connecting Castlefields Park and Castle Walk.

The unmade path, which connects with the road had slipped over time creating a drop which had become difficult and dangerous for this disabled resident to use.

Investigations, with the help of Calne Town Council officers, identified this path as a permissive path provided by Bowood.

Discussions with the helpful Estate Manager at Bowood has resulted in this path being filled with fresh material and flattened with a wacker plate making the connection between the two surfaces level.

I have been advised that signs will be installed to warn the public of an uneven surface on this path.
